Comforters
Since we all have our own sense of what temperature feels "just right" for sleeping, we cannot set any hard-and-fast guidelines for selecting a down comforter weight. In general, choosing a down comforter weight depends on the climate where you live, your average bedroom temperature and how hot or cold you personally feel at night.
Using these criteria, we offer these descriptions of our down comforter options so you can compare the four levels of warmth and select the one that suits you.
Light-Loft - |
for warm climates, mildly air-conditioned bedrooms, people who feel warm. |
Mid-Loft - |
for year-round use in most climates, cool bedrooms, people who don't feel overly hot or cold. |
High-Loft - |
for winter in most climates, heat-conserving bedrooms, people who usually feel cold. |
Ultra-Loft - |
for winter in cold climates, open-window bedrooms, people who always feel cold. |
Note - Don't think you have to fit exactly into any one category. Breathable down is comfortable over a wider range of temperatures than other bedding.
Pillows
Although pillow firmness is also a matter of individual preference, guidelines for selection can be more specific due to the limited number of sleeping positions:
Soft - |
for sleeping on your stomach. |
Medium - |
for sleeping on your back. |
Firm - |
for sleeping on your side. |
